Hometown Style
Window Coverings Made for Ferndale Living
Ferndale is one of the fastest growing towns in Whatcom County, with a friendly downtown along Main Street, the Nooksack River winding past Hovander Homestead Park and Tennant Lake, and Pioneer Park’s historic cedar log buildings, where the Old Settlers Picnic has been a summer tradition for generations.
Ferndale homes feature open layouts, newer construction, and larger windows, so window treatments need to balance light control, privacy, and energy efficiency. We design custom blinds and shades that look clean, function smoothly, and fit correctly the first time.
New Neighborhoods
Great rooms, sliders, and big windows look sharp with honeycomb, roller, and solar shades in coordinated colors throughout the home.
Established Homes
Wood blinds, shutters, and Roman shades bring warmth and classic style to older homes near downtown.
Sandy Point and the Water
Solar shades soften sunset glare off the water and keep the view open toward the islands.
Building in Ferndale
Window Coverings for New Construction
With so many new homes going up in Ferndale, we work with homeowners and builders to plan window coverings early. Planning during construction makes it easy to choose the right mounting, recessed headrails, and wiring for motorized shades.
Cordless and motorized options keep things tidy and simple for families with kids and pets, and coordinating fabrics room to room gives a new home a polished, finished look from day one.

Ferndale Window Covering Questions
Do you offer free in-home consultations in Ferndale?
Yes. Our design team brings samples to your home in Ferndale and helps you compare styles and brands in your own light.
What window treatments work best in Ferndale homes?
Honeycomb shades for insulation, roller shades for clean lines, and motorized systems for larger window groupings are all popular choices. For open living spaces, layering shades with drapery adds softness and privacy.
What works best for newer Ferndale neighborhoods?
Many newer Ferndale homes have open floor plans and big sliders, so roller shades, vertical honeycomb shades, and motorized options are popular for keeping large spaces bright and easy to manage.
Which window coverings give privacy while keeping natural light?
Top-down bottom-up honeycomb shades, light filtering roller shades, and plantation shutters let daylight in while keeping rooms private from the street.
Do you offer cordless options for homes with kids and pets?
Yes. Most of our blinds and shades come in cordless or motorized versions, which keep windows clean and simple for busy households.
Do you also serve Sandy Point and the areas around Ferndale?
Yes. We work with homeowners throughout Ferndale and nearby communities, including Sandy Point waterfront homes where solar shades soften glare off the water.
Do you carry Hunter Douglas in Ferndale?
Yes. Bindi and Bird is an authorized Hunter Douglas dealer serving Ferndale, and we also carry Norman, Graber, Lafayette, and Alta.
How do measuring and installation work?
Measuring is part of your free in-home consultation process, so your Ferndale window coverings are ordered to fit just right. We then coordinate professional installation with our trusted local installer.
