Modern Light Control with a Striking Look
Banded Shades in Bellingham, WA
Banded shades bring a bold, contemporary approach to light control. Alternating bands of sheer and solid fabric glide past each other, so you can shift easily between filtered light, view-through and complete privacy.
At Bindi and Bird, we design custom banded shades for Bellingham homes, condos and offices, chosen for how you use each room and the look you love.
Layered and Versatile
Banded Shades and Zebra Blinds
Our custom banded shades are designed to perform and impress. Their clean lines and layered textures add depth and interest to any space, whether you’re outfitting a modern home, a high-rise condo or a sleek office.
Zebra shades are as functional as they are stylish. Raise them fully for an open view, align the bands for soft filtered light, or close them completely for privacy and room darkening.

Good to Know
Common Questions About Zebra Blinds and Banded Shades
What are zebra blinds?
Zebra blinds, also known as dual or layered shades, feature alternating sheer and solid fabric stripes. You can adjust the stripes to filter natural light or close them for privacy, giving you flexible light control in a single window covering.
Are zebra blinds good for privacy?
Yes, zebra blinds are a great option for privacy. When the solid stripes are aligned, they create full coverage from outside view. During the day, switch to the sheer setting to welcome in light while keeping moderate privacy.
Are zebra blinds good for bedrooms?
Zebra blinds are a popular choice for bedrooms, especially in room darkening fabric. They give you soft, filtered light during the day and privacy at night, combining style and function for restful spaces.
