“Julie patiently helped me go through the many choices, repeatedly bringing swatches to my home and helping me understand the styles, colors and prices. When the shades arrived, they were perfect!”
Angela P. · Google Review
“I really like working with Julie. She is kind and listens to our needs. She pays attention to details, therefore I trust her. She does not try to pressure us in any way. The price that she gave us was better than a competing company. It was a no-brainer to go with Bindi and Bird shades.”

Hunter Douglas Shades, Chosen at Home
Honeycomb shades are our top seller, and Hunter Douglas Duette® is the one most of our clients fall for. The cells trap air at the window, which keeps rooms cozier through gray Northwest winters and cooler on bright summer afternoons. Pair them with room darkening fabric in bedrooms and a light filtering fabric in living spaces for a consistent look throughout the house.
Want to see a finished project? Take a look at our Duette® Architella® honeycomb shades in a Burlington home, with room darkening bedrooms and PowerView® motorization on the primary slider.
Hunter Douglas Shade Questions
What is the difference between Duette and Sonnette shades?
Duette® is a classic honeycomb shade that folds up neatly and offers excellent insulation. Sonnette® is a cellular roller shade, so it rolls up with soft, curved fabric and still gives you the insulating benefit of a cellular design. Both come in light filtering and room darkening options.
Which Hunter Douglas shades are best for bedrooms?
Duette® honeycomb shades with room darkening fabric are a favorite for bedrooms, and Vignette® Modern Roman Shades and Designer Roller Shades also come in room darkening fabrics. We can show you each one in your own room during a consultation.
What are Silhouette and Pirouette shades?
Silhouette® and Pirouette® are Hunter Douglas window shadings with soft fabric vanes. Silhouette suspends the vanes between two sheers for gently diffused light, while Pirouette has vanes attached to a single sheer backing for a bolder, layered look.
Can I see Hunter Douglas shade samples before I buy?
Yes. Our designers bring Hunter Douglas fabric samples to your home anywhere in Whatcom and Skagit County so you can see how each one looks in your own light.
Do you install the shades?
Yes. We measure every window and our local installers handle the full installation, then show you how everything works.
