Solar Shades for a Bellingham View Home
Hunter Douglas Architectural 5% Solar Shades in Pearl Grey
Bindi & Bird recently completed a solar shade project for a beautiful Bellingham view home, and the finished great room is bright, comfortable and all about the view.
This home looks out over the treetops toward the distant hills, with tall windows across the great room and a wide slider to the deck. The goal was simple: soften the sun while keeping that view front and center. Hunter Douglas Architectural solar shades did exactly that.
Our Pick
Why We Chose 5% Solar Shades
Solar shades are woven with tiny openings that let soft light in while you still see clearly outside. A 5% openness is a lovely middle ground: it tames bright sun and glare, adds daytime privacy and keeps the view crisp.
For this home we chose Pearl Grey, a soft, versatile neutral that looks clean against the white walls and pairs beautifully with the warm wood floors. From inside, the view reads clearly through the fabric, so the treetops and the hills stay part of the room.
Each shade is finished with a slim black fascia that conceals the roller and echoes the black window frames, giving every window a tailored, modern look.
Best of Both
Soft Light, Clear View
Solar shades let you enjoy a bright, sunny room and a wide open view at the same time.
The view stays the star.
Lower the shades on a bright afternoon and the room settles into a calm, even light while the view stays in sight. Raise them and the fabric rolls neatly up behind the fascia, leaving the whole window open.
Around the Room
One Clean Look Across Every Window
Matching shades on every window and the slider give the great room a calm, cohesive finish, with the same soft light and the same clear view from wall to wall.
