Hometown Style
Camano Homes Are Built Around the View
Saratoga Passage stretches along the west side of Camano toward Whidbey Island and the Olympics, while Port Susan and the Cascades fill the view to the east. Camano Island State Park and the historic waterfront cabins at Cama Beach State Park are local favorites, and the island is an easy drive across the bridge from Stanwood.
Big windows, sliding doors, and vaulted great rooms are part of what makes island living so special, and the right window coverings let you enjoy all of it on your own terms.
West-Facing Rooms
Solar shades soften the afternoon sun off the water while keeping the view in sight.
Winter Evenings
Honeycomb shades add a cozy layer of insulation at the glass.
Beach Cottages
Woven woods bring natural texture that suits beach cottages and modern island homes alike.
Weekend Retreats
Shades for Cabins and Getaway Homes
Many Camano homes are weekend cabins and getaway retreats. Motorized shades can be set to open and close on a schedule, giving the house a lived-in look and keeping rooms comfortable until you return.
You can also adjust every shade from your phone, so arriving on a Friday evening means walking into a home that already feels ready for the weekend.

Camano Island Window Covering Questions
What window coverings work best for Camano Island view homes?
Solar shades, roller shades, and motorized shades are popular for view homes because they soften bright light off the water while keeping the view open. Honeycomb shades and drapery add warmth and privacy in the evening.
Do you offer free in-home consultations on Camano Island?
Yes. Our design team brings samples to your home anywhere on Camano Island and helps you compare styles and brands in your own light.
Do you serve all of Camano Island?
Yes. We work with homeowners from Utsalady and Camano City to Mabana and the south end of the island.
Can I control shades remotely at a weekend or vacation home?
Yes. Motorized systems like Hunter Douglas PowerView can be controlled from your phone and set on schedules, so shades open and close on their own while you are away.
What are the best shades for a good night’s sleep?
Room darkening shades are the go-to for bedrooms and nurseries. Adding side channels or drapery makes the room even darker.
What works best for Camano beach cabins?
Woven wood shades, linen drapery, and light filtering roller shades suit relaxed beach cabins, while solar shades keep views of Saratoga Passage and Port Susan open.
