SmartDrape Installation in Bellingham

Bindi & Bird recently completed a SmartDrape installation for a home in Bellingham, and it quickly became one of our favorite projects this year.

The homeowners wanted something soft and beautiful for a wide window, but they still needed everyday privacy and light control. SmartDrape was a great fit because it combines the look and movement of drapery with the function of a vertical shade.

Why We Chose SmartDrape

SmartDrape features individual fabric vanes layered within a soft sheer. When open, natural light filters through and the room still feels connected to the outdoors. Rotate the vanes and the window becomes more private without the heavy, closed-in feeling of a traditional window covering.

For this Bellingham home, we loved how the fabric softened the entire room. It added warmth and movement without overwhelming the space or covering up the view.

One of the most practical features is the ability to walk directly through the vanes, even when the shade is drawn. That makes SmartDrape especially useful for large windows, sliding glass doors, patio doors, and other spaces where people move between indoors and outdoors throughout the day.
